Dear Union Elementary Families,

My name is LaToya Turner, and it is my honor and privilege to welcome you to Union Elementary School! I am proud to serve the Union community and excited to partner with our students, families, and staff as we work together to make this an exceptional place to learn and grow.

Throughout my career in education, I have had the opportunity to serve as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, and assistant principal. Each of these roles strengthened my belief that every child can achieve success when provided with high-quality instruction, meaningful support, and positive relationships. These experiences have shaped my educational philosophy, which is rooted in the belief that collaboration, communication, and shared responsibility between school and home are essential to helping students reach their fullest potential.

Together, we will continue to inspire hope and empower all our students to reach their goals and dreams. We will do this collaboratively with the support of staff, parents, and the community.

At Union Elementary, we believe every student has the potential to succeed and grow both academically and socially emotionally. To support that growth, we provide high-quality instruction and a rigorous curriculum, complemented by Positive Behavioral Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and explicit instruction in schoolwide skills and expectations.

Our schoolwide expectations—Be Safe, Be Responsible, and Be Kind—are intentionally taught, modeled, and reinforced throughout our campus to create a safe, positive, and predictable learning environment. By establishing consistent expectations and providing students with the skills they need to make positive choices, we foster a school culture where every child feels supported, valued, and empowered to become a successful learner and a responsible member of our community
